In his new study the Hungarian philologist Sandor Kish
reveals the structuring role of the motif of contract between the
characters in the entire collection of Marie de France’s lais, ensuring its integrity. His approach also allows a new look at many classic plots as
interactions of different agreements concluded between the heroes.
