Abstract

Professor of Russian literature of the Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Toronto Donna Orvin studies in the reviewed monograph some writing strategies of “presentation of subjectivity” and “intra-textual communication” in works of Ivan Turgenev, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Lev Tolstoy. D. Orwin focuses on the process of reflection by the main characters of Russian writers, which ultimately leads to better understanding of the Russian soul.
