The review examines the plot-compositional, thematic and stylistic features of the novel by E.G. Vodolazkina «Brisbane», as well as some conceptual attitudes of its author. The focus is on a variable narrative perspective created by alternating two time layers – past and present. Some key concept images («music», «life», «death») are revealed. A special attention is paid to the literary origins of a drowned woman’s image.
