This article reviews the 2015–2021 publications in a
new philological journal devoted to the work of Giovan Battista Giraldi
Cinzio. The journal’s authors focus on Giraldi’s collection of novellas
Ecatommiti, his dramaturgical texts, the intertextual connections of his
works with the visual arts, and the problems of textology and the
preparation of critical editions of Giraldi’s legacy. The journal also
publishes comparative works revealing the significance of Giraldi for
other national cultures as well as studies that raise general questions
about the specificity of Renaissance literature or reconstruct the
historical context in which the Ferrara author was formed and worked.
